Initial Consult

The initial consult for any surgical condition is charged at $225 (Medicare rebate $80.85)

Pensioners are Bulk Billed
Health Care Card Holders are charged significantly discounted fees

Any procedures performed during this consultation are charged in addition to this fee.

Your Medicare rebate is processed electronically and will be deposited by Medicare into your nominated bank account

Subsequent Visits

Subsequent visits for any non operative surgical condition are charged at $135 (Medicare rebate $40.65)

Post-operative visits in the immediate post operative period have no charge

Gap Cover Surgery

Surgery in private hospitals that is performed on DVA and Workcover patients is performed on a No Gap basis*. This means that you will not receive a bill from our surgeons. All surgical bills for in hospital services are forwarded directly to DVA and WorkCover.

Prior to May 1 2024 Privately insured patients from included funds will be charged No Gap for surgery, From May 1 2024 All privately insured patients will have an out of pocket cost

*Australian Unity Has no gap cover scheme for Members on Basic Hospital (B1, YB2), Smart Start (LB), Care ‘N Share (BA), Budget Hospital (B2), Basic Starter (YCA) and Basic Saver (YCB)
*HCF members will have a gap
*Combined Cases (involving multiple surgeons eg plastic surgeons) may incur a co-payment. This will be discussed with you and full financial consent obtained before your procedure.
*You may have a health fund excess depending on your policy.
*Some anaesthetists do charge a gap.
